They wish to lay before your lordship a copy of the Correspondence laid before Parliament relative to the conditional designation of office in Hongkong with Home explanatory notes, Kindly sent to express my regret that the whole of my letter to Mr. Stephen of 18 July 1844, as not been printed, as it could afford additional evidence of the reasons that induced me to return to England.
